App and website design for Thea, an AI-powered platform that analyzes a user’s voice to detect real-time emotion and delivers music to either deepen the feeling or guide them toward equilibrium.
Brief
Product design for Thea, an app that listens to a user's tone of voice to determine their emotion in real-time. Thea also provides music to enhance or modify users’ emotional states.
Solution
We designed the app and website as visual representations of human emotions, using color and a curated collection of video to reflect each feeling and meet users where they are.
The app uses AI to detect emotion in a user's voice and, in turn, provides music to support them based on their needs in that moment. The interface adapts to each emotional state, creating an environment that feels responsive and empathetic. Users can choose whether they want to lean into what they’re feeling or gently transition toward equilibrium.
On the website, a carefully selected library of collaborating artists represents a range of emotional landscapes.
By pairing voice analysis with curated music, Thea turns an emotional state into a sensory environment users can sit inside.
