We worked with Cocoon’s founding team to bring their modern childcare center to life.

In 2022 they built their second location, leveraging the technology we built with them to provide best-in-class service to their members.

Project Overview

  1. Built a content-rich marketing site and checkout flow to showcase the physical space and allow new customers to sign up for Cocoon memberships.

  2. Built a secure member management portal for customers, caregivers, and child accounts allowing users to register for events, courses, and 1-on-1 services.

  3. Built an admin dashboard on top of Shopify for Cocoon employees to manage events, check in members with QR codes, and analyze key customer metrics.

Satisfying the daily logistics of a bustling physical space.

Working with Manhattan Hydraulics, we began with a strategy phase that mapped Cocoon’s business model to the different types of bookings it would need to operate. We synthesized these scheduling requirements into an end-to-end booking flow that works fluidly to meet the requirements and logistics of their physical space.

A new spin on a necessary community business

Cocoon customers are able to book a number of services using the member dashboard, including time in physical spaces with timeslots for rooms, 1-on-1 time with instructors and providers, recurring courses, and one-off events. This means easier access to all sorts of childcare offerings so kids can get on the playground faster.

A fully-supportive digital childcare system

The Cocoon app is packed with modern hospitality features. Email reminders and subscription management allow Cocoon members to sign up for membership plans, book courses and events, and notify family members and caregivers to keep them all up to date. QR code checkins make for a seamless in-person experience.

On the admin side, the Cocoon staff can plan out their programming and resourcing, track course attendance, and analyze key customer metrics, all within their Shopify back-end.

Since launch, Cocoon has served over 500+ families, booked over 5,000+ courses and events, and continues to grow its operations into multiple locations around the city.
