Replit

Using Replit to build replit.com: empowering marketers to ship at product speed.

Replit’s marketing team needed a faster way to launch campaigns, product pages, and customer stories without relying on a dedicated engineering team for every update.

1. We extended Replit's existing marketing site and simplified their CMS, making Sanity easier for editors to use and helping the team move more quickly without developer involvement.

2. We developed a system that allows marketers to build and publish pages using Replit itself, transforming the marketing website into a living demonstration of the product's capabilities.

3. We provided ongoing embedded support across design, development, content operations, and campaign execution, helping Replit launch new initiatives as the company scaled.

Visual Editing

When Sanctuary joined the project, Replit's marketing team was managing a website that had become difficult to maintain.

The existing CMS schema was not serving the needs of editors, burying some features and lacking others entirely. The underlying infrastructure, designed for a complex product at unicorn scale, was causing delays and unpredictability in content publication. All of this created friction for editors who wanted to move quickly and independently.

We reconfigured the site to better fit the infrastructure, introduced editorial improvements such as visual editing, and helped address a range of quality-of-life issues with the CMS. At the same time, we partnered closely with the marketing team to design and develop new site features, landing pages, campaign experiences, and promotional content.

Rather than acting as a traditional implementation partner, we became an extension of Replit’s marketing team, empowering and advocating for them within a product-first organization.

The result was a more flexible publishing environment that better matched the speed of Replit’s internal teams.

The most ambitious part of the engagement emerged from a simple question:

If Replit allows users to generate and launch software quickly, could the marketing team use the same workflow to build its own website?

Working closely with Replit's engineers, we helped create a system that connects Replit Apps directly to the marketing website. Through Sanity, marketers can assign website routes to individual apps, allowing new pages and experiences to be developed and deployed through Replit's AI-assisted workflow.

This effectively transformed the marketing site into a collection of connected microsites powered by Replit itself.

To support the system, Sanctuary developed utilities and workflows for wiring up target apps correctly every time. We gave Replit’s proprietary agent the skills to use these affordances, and provided it with permission-scoped access to configure route assignments via Sanity's MCP server, so editors could just vibe.

We also contributed to solutions for shared content, UI, SEO, and sitemap generation: critical infrastructure for maintaining a coherent and discoverable network of independently developed experiences.

In many ways, the marketing site became a demonstration of Replit’s own product vision: enabling non-specialists to create and publish sophisticated web experiences with dramatically less engineering overhead.

As Replit continues to evolve, its marketing priorities change quickly. New campaigns, product launches, customer stories, and experimental initiatives often require rapid execution.

Sanctuary provides ongoing support across these efforts, helping the team launch new pages while maintaining consistency across the broader platform. Our work includes design support, front-end development, content operations, CMS improvements, and strategic guidance around site architecture. We're often called on to vet and onboard other vendors into the site's unique architecture.

Because we are embedded within Replit’s workflow, we’re able to respond quickly to shifting priorities without requiring large project resets or lengthy planning cycles.

The result is a marketing platform that can evolve as quickly as the product it represents, giving Replit's team greater autonomy while reducing the operational burden traditionally associated with managing a fast-moving website.

Replit continues to expand what's possible with AI-assisted software development. By helping the company bring those same principles to its marketing infrastructure, Sanctuary is creating a foundation that allows teams to experiment, launch, and iterate more quickly.

As the platform grows, the systems established through this engagement position Replit’s marketing team to build new experiences at the pace of the product itself, and lead the conversation in the fastest-moving field in technology.
